Member Access to PMLA: Frequently Asked Questions
As a benefit of membership, all MLA members have individual electronic access to the current issue of PMLA and to the full journal archive, going back to 1884, through a partnership with Cambridge University Press.
Current members can log in through the MLA website to Cambridge Core and view or download PDFs of articles in every issue of PMLA. If you’re not a current member, join or renew now.
CloseAlthough electronic access to the journal has been available to those in subscribing libraries, offering individual electronic access allows all members, regardless of affiliation, to read any issue of the journal. We know you’re accessing research materials from any number of places these days, so PMLA should go where you are.
Shifting to a digital-access model reduces the carbon footprint of the journal, saving approximately 90,000 pounds of paper per year. While we have no plans to stop printing copies of PMLA, we encourage you to consider receiving an online-only subscription.
CloseYou can still get PMLA in print if you want it. All members will have electronic access to the journal, but if you’d also like to receive print copies, when you join or renew your membership you can order a print subscription for $12 per year. This charge covers basic printing, shipping, and handling. Life members may opt in to print through the life-member notice they receive in November or through the online renewal form. The convention program (September PMLA) will automatically be sent to all members in print.
CloseWrite to Leo Moreton (lmoreton@mla.org) to purchase a print copy of a single issue of PMLA.
CloseIf you elect to receive a print subscription, your subscription will begin with your renewal date or, for life members, with the start date associated with your life membership.
CloseWe’ll e-mail you the table of contents for each new issue, so you’ll get access to each issue as soon as it’s published.
